Looking for Opportunities

November 28, 2014 //  by Rachel Kent//  9 Comments

I love the story of Arthur the stray dog! Perhaps you’ve seen it in the news, too? Arthur joined a team racing 430 miles in the Amazon jungle after he was fed a canned meatball by one of the racers. Arthur followed the team for the rest of the race and even sustained injuries while on his trek. The big thing I love about this story is that Arthur saw something good and he went after it with all of his heart. He had a tiny taste of what it is to be loved and so he went after that love with everything he had and because if it he ended up with a loving home. Out of all of the stray dogs, Arthur was the one who went after his dream and now he is the one with a home!

I’d like to encourage all of you to be like Arthur. Watch for an opportunity to pursue your dream, whatever it may be, and then go after it with all of your heart. Maybe you wont get exactly what you were hoping for at the end of your “race” like Arthur did, but at least you wont be like the other strays who didn’t try. And you never know–maybe you will succeed and get your happily-ever-after, too.

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend!

What an awesome story. It reminds me of Jacob wrestling with God, demanding His blessing. Yes, I am struggling along this month, going after a decade long dream to do Nano. Not sure if I’ll make it, but I got up at 4:00am today to try, better stop reading blogs and get busy. We’ll see what happens. Here’s to hope.

Amen. If we don’t pursue our dream, it won’t come chasing us down.

Yes, I need to be more like Arthur – it is so easy to get distracted by all the busyness of life and forget about the goal…

    A belated Happy Thanksgiving Rachel!
