Rachel’s Favorite Christmas Memory

My favorite Christmas memory for this year was having the entire Zurakowski family together for our Christmas Eve church service and also for Christmas Day gifts. All of us (my two brothers and two sisters and me) are grown up, and we live all over the US, but we were together for Christmas.

My two little nephews loved playing together and had a hard time sitting through the church service because they were having so much fun being with each other. The little one (2 1/2) had to be taken out for a little while because he was being so loud. The older one (5 1/2) is a bit more used to sitting quietly in church. We almost filled two pews, and I’m sure the family will continue to grow! After the church service, my husband and I went out to dinner, and we might keep doing that each year as a new tradition. It was the only time we spent alone during the holiday; it was nice! Then we went back to my parents’ house to help wrap gifts and to chat with the family.

We were back at my parents’ house bright and early the next morning, and the two little boys were so ready to open their gifts. It was very fun to watch them open the presents with such enthusiasm. 🙂 Most of the toys were Star Wars things this year. I’m pretty sure they both think they’re Jedi. After we finished presents with my family, we went over to Andrew’s parents’ house to celebrate there with his family. Andrew is also one of five children so it was crowded over there as well.

We enjoyed celebrating with both families! I’m sorry I don’t have any pictures to share yet. My mom took most of the pictures, and she hasn’t had a chance to send them to me.

I hope all of you also had a merry Christmas filled with family and fun!

Sounds wonderful! I love that you both come from large families. It might be overwhelming if one of you didn’t have siblings, but since you both do, you know what to expect. My husband comes from a big family and it’s always a lot of fun getting together for Christmas.

My parents both have tons of siblings so I grew up with a million cousins. I have great memories!
