Resurrection Sunday means that because of Jesus, our stories can have a different ending.
This is good news! The best news in the world was first delivered by a group of voices that weren’t considered important in their culture.
So they rushed back from the tomb to tell his eleven disciples—and everyone else—what had happened. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and several other women who told the apostles what had happened. -Luke 24:9-10 NLT
As writers, there’s a temptation to think that our voice doesn’t always matter or our stories aren’t powerful enough. This passage of scripture shows that God entrusted these women with the news of Jesus’ resurrection. They wasted no time in carrying the story of what they’d seen and heard. It’s not hard to imagine those women sharing their experience at the tomb for the rest of their lives.
Each of us has a story. Every person behind each story matters because Jesus gave his life for us all. On this Resurrection Sunday, we pray that if Jesus has changed your life, you continue to find ways to share your personal “He is risen” story with others.

Beautiful. Thank you for this.
I love that women were the first to receive the good news.
And I love that the Lord had already answered their question: “Who will move the stone?”
The women were faithful to do what they were called to do–minister to their Lord.
May I keep that focus for my writing–serving Jesus, trusting him to move those stones, and declaring the Good News.
