Happy 4th of July!

July 4, 2022 //  by Rachel Kent//  3 Comments

The team at Books & Such hopes you have a wonderful, safe Independence Day!

Do you have any special plans?

We went to a fireworks show last night. The first time the fireworks shows have been going since Covid shut things down. My son LOVED every minute of the show and his commentary on the whole thing was very fun to listen to.

We are going to lay low today and catch up on some things. We also have to stay close to our poor dog. He hates fireworks and there are lots being set off all around (despite them being illegal here).

I hope you all have a happy 4th!

May your day be filled with God’s blessings!

The hiss of sparklers fills the air,
hot dogs coming, on the way,
and it seems that most still care
    about our Independence Day.
The last few years, they had me worried,
    folks thought the country misbegotten,
shouting that it should be buried
    in its past, and quick-forgotten,
but I yet see the waving flags
and buntings of red, white, and blue,
    not discarded as old rags
but symbols of a world made new,
free from cruel and idle kings,
a bright fresh land where freedom rings.
