Go After Your Dreams!

May 24, 2021 //  by Rachel Kent//  6 Comments

I love the story of Arthur the stray dog! Perhaps you’ve seen it in the news, too? Arthur joined a team racing 430 miles in the Amazon jungle after he was fed a canned meatball by one of the racers. Arthur followed the team for the rest of the race and even sustained injuries while on his trek. The big thing I love about this story is that Arthur saw something good and he went after it with all of his heart. He had a tiny taste of what it is to be loved and so he went after that love with everything he had and because if it he ended up with a loving home. Out of all of the stray dogs, Arthur was the one who went after his dream and now he is the one with a home!

I’d like to encourage all of you to be like Arthur. Watch for an opportunity to pursue your dream, whatever it may be, and then go after it with all of your heart. Maybe you wont get exactly what you were hoping for at the end of your “race” like Arthur did, but at least you wont be like the other strays who didn’t try. And you never know–maybe you will succeed and get your happily-ever-after, too.

God has big things planned for us! Let’s go get them!

Oh, my goodness Rachel! You just made me cry! Go, Arthur, go! Our pup, Princess Leia Freyja would approve. She uses her 124lbs to shoulder her way into the car any time it looks like we are going anywhere. She has even snuck around to the driver’s side after being denied at the boys’ door, and gained access by leaping into the driver’s lap an worming across an onto the boys’ laps. There is just something about a dog that stirs the heart. It absolutely does remind me to go for my dreams. Thank you, Arthur!

Thanks for the encouragement. One thing easy to forget is it is certain you’ll never get what you want if you dont take the risk and follow the meatball!

My hearing’s really not so good,
it’s just not worth a fig,
    so I guess that’s why I should
    hear the phrase “Dream Pig”.
I guess this would be Wilbur,
    our friend from Charlotte’s Web,
    in that danger too familiar
    as his days did ebb
    moving with dread grimness towards
    the looming smoke-house chimney,
but he was then saved by words
    whose message always wins me
over to a heart raised higher
and I’ll never stomp another spider.
