For our free-for-all, I’d like to share what’s next on my reading list, and I’d like to hear what’s next on yours. Don’t worry; your next book doesn’t need to be for young adults. π Mine is, but I promise I don’t only read YA literature.
I’m looking forward to reading Jane by April Lindner. This book was a Christmas gift from one of my good friends. She’s a “book buddy” of mine. We enjoy the same types of books and will often share books we’ve purchased with each other.
With the tagline: “What if Jane Eyre fell in love with a rock star?” who could resist? π
What’s next on your reading queue, and why did you pick it?
(FYI: I just went to Amazon and watched the book trailer while I was pulling the cover for the blog, and I was surprised to see a local Santa Rosa winery in the beginning of the video! That stately mansion (in color) is the Ledson Winery! How funny.)

I’m reading several books right now. Once is an ARC sent to me for comment – THIEF by Linda Windsor, set in 6th century Scotland. The other was a Christmas gift – THE FALL OF GIANTS by Ken Follett. After those, PLAIN TRUTH by Jodi Picoult for my readers group. Also doing research for my WIP, so reading THE ART OF VIOLIN MAKING by Chris Johnson and Roy Courtnall.
Happy Reading!

I actually caught my breath when I read “What if Jane Eyre fell in love with a rock star?”! I love, love, love Jane Eyre!
I have to read this!
Thank you SO much for sharing this! Off to order it…

I’m currently reading Dragons of the Valley by Donita K. Paul to get ready for the CSFF Blog Tour next week. Love it and can’t wait to blog about it π
I love Jane Eyre! So I will definitely need to pick up that book you showcased above π
Lindsay Franklin
I’m torn between starting BY DARKNESS HID by Jill Williamson, as I’ve heard only great things about it, and CYNDERE’S MIDNIGHT by Jeffery Overstreet. I recently finished AURALIA’S COLORS, the first in Overstreet’s series and loved it. Decisions!
Rachel, your book sounds intriguing. I might have to check that one out, too. IMHO, Mr. Rochester already is a rock star! π

I’d like to get my hands on a classic women’s fiction book I’ve yet to read, GIRLS’ GUIDE TO HUNTING AND FISHING. Also high on my list: a book in the steampunk genre (not sure which one, but Iβm fascinated by the concept), Jean Auel’s THE LAND OF PAINTED CAVES (have to finish the series I started at the inappropriately young age of 11) and Megan McCafferty’s first two Jessica Darling books (reading the series backward after I reviewed the fifth book and loved it).

Yikes. That’s a great cover on Jane.
Up next for me is Tyger Tyger, by Kersten Hamilton.
Cheryl Malandrinos
Right now I am reading The Innocent by Vincent Zandri and The Tudor Secret by C.W. Gortner. Next up in The Secret Life of Emily Dickinson by Jereome Charyn.
I’m reading these for virtual book tours (VBTs), but I’ve read two other books by Gortner and loved them so much I knew I wanted to read his latest. I’ve heard a lot of great stuff about Zandri’s work, so I decided to tag onto his VBT. Emily Dickinson is one of my favorite poets.
Thanks for a great week talking about books.

I am reading Candle in the Darkness by Lynn Austin. I was given the trilogy by a friend and I am LOVING every minute of it!
I aspire to be so talented!
Rich Gerberding
Re-reading Writing for the Soul. For the next few weeks most of my reading/editing will be my own project and finishing touches on 5 workshops for a Feb. Conference.
Looking forward to loading up the new Nook in March!

I’m going to be reading WRAPPED IN RAIN by Charles Martin, and will also soon begin another non-fiction book. I have several in my queue for non-fiction, and I’m having a little bit of a hard time choosing what’s next!
Jennifer Fromke
I’m reading THE DISTANT HOURS by Kate Morton. I discovered her books this year, and while I usually try to read a broad array of authors, I couldn’t help devouring all three novels. Her storyworld takes me away.
Melissa K Norris
Next on my reading list is In Search of Eden by Linda Nichols. One of my bday presents to myself. I got ten of them when I went to the Christian bookstore. Such good sales, covers, back cover copy…..
Nikole Hahn
I’d like to read some books by Patti Lacy and by Carol Cox. I’ve got so much on my list that slowly I’m getting it down so I can get to their books. Right now I am reading Sheila Walsh The Shelter and Tried by War (Abraham Lincoln as Commander in Chief).
Karen Schravemade
Hi Rachel! π I received a nice big book voucher for Christmas – my favourite present, of course. Just ordered The Secret Life of Bees, Lake of Dreams by Kim Edwards (who wrote The Memory Keepers Daughter), The Moment Between us by Nicole Baart, Daisy Chain by Mary de Muth, and the 2009 National Book award winner, Let the Great World Spin. I’m watching the post every day!
Oh, and I’m also reading The Distant Hours, like Jennifer. If you haven’t read any of Kate Morton’s books, I think you would love her!
Leigh DeLozier
Next on my list is Sugar and Ice by Kate Messner, which is a juvenile/MG novel.
We were out of town this weekend and I had a review copy of Lady in the Mist by Laurie Alice Eakes waiting when we got home today. What a great surprise!

JANE EYRE is my favorite classic, and I may have to check JANE out. I don’t know about the rockstar part.
I’m finishing up THE RECKLESS BRIDE by Stephanie Laurens, and I may read MR DARCY’S OBSESSION by Abigail Reynolds.
